Home Healing Hues was founded on the principle of helping improve lives, and I’ve wanted to donate my time and talent as much as I can back to my community. Over the last year I have been involved in some amazing organizations and fundraisers. These include:
Dare2B Different – I was in charge of finding donations to help raise money for The Hospital of Sick Children’s – Burn Unit and Camp Bucko.
Cup for the Cure – In support of Breast Cancer Awareness month in October, I had a memorable experience with teacups and having to wear a fascinator.
Jenny’s Warriors Fundraising Luncheon – Winning the Fight Against Kidney Disease, I helped with the set-up, took tickets and made a donation.
Habitat for Humanity – The ‘Women in Power’ build is where people volunteer their time to help build homes for people in need; I learned how to put in posts for a fence.
McLaughlin Park (Parkwood Estate) – I volunteered with painting the Tea House.
Durham Region Hospice – I have told them I would volunteer my time for design and choosing healing colours.
THIS IS HOW YOU CAN HELP
MAKE A WISH
What if there was a place where “barely used stuff” could be donated for later use in a recovery/decorating project for someone on a limited budget? If you donate paint, barely used furniture, accessories etc. then we can make a child or an adult’s wish come true.
I am reaching out to ask if anyone has storage space they can donate for us to use for all the “barely used stuff” that people have been donating to me, unfortunately I have ran out of room.
I would like to ask Family and Friends to volunteer their services to help with the transformation of someone’s space by helping with organizing, de-cluttering, painting etc. There are also great ways to Raise Funds to support a friend or family member, for example: GoFundMe.
